How to merge PDF files on iPhone and iPad
Merge PDF in Unlock my PDF joins two or more PDFs into a single file: add them, drag them into order and slide. It works offline on your iPhone or iPad, with protected PDFs too.
Step by step
- Step 1
Open Merge PDF
In the Tools tab, tap Merge PDF, then Add PDFs. Choose where the PDFs are: you can select several at once from Files.
- Step 2
Put the files in order
Drag the files into the order you want, or use Move up and Move down. Tap Add PDFs again to add more; you need at least two.
- Step 3
Enter passwords if needed
If one of the PDFs is protected, the app asks for the password you know for that file. The merged PDF stays protected with the same password.
- Step 4
Slide to merge and save
Drag Slide to merge. When you see Merged, tap Share or Save to Files. The original files don't change.
Good to know
Photos and paper documents in the same PDF
When you add files you can also scan a paper document or pick photos: each one is added as a PDF in the list. To turn a set of photos into a PDF on its own, see photos to PDF.
The merged file is too big
Merging adds up the size of all the files. If the result is too big to email, compress it in one more step.
Remove the password from the merged PDF
With Premium you can turn on Remove the password from the result before merging, so the final file opens without a password.

How many PDFs can I merge?
At least two. You can keep adding files with Add PDFs before you slide.
Can I change the order of the pages, not just the files?
Yes: after merging, open the result in Organize pages to move, rotate or delete single pages.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDFs are merged on your iPhone or iPad.
