How to split a PDF into separate files on iPhone and iPad
Split PDF in Unlock my PDF cuts one PDF into several files, either every few pages or by the page ranges you type. You see a preview of the files before splitting, and everything happens on your device.
Step by step
- Step 1
Open Split PDF and choose the file
In the Tools tab, tap Split PDF, then Tap to choose, and pick the PDF from Files.
- Step 2
Choose how to split
Every few pages makes files of the same length: choose 1 to get one file per page. Custom groups makes one file for each range you type, such as 1-3, 4-6, 7.
- Step 3
Check the preview
At the bottom you see the files that will be created and their pages. Tap a file to see its pages.
- Step 4
Slide to split and save the files
Drag Slide to split. Then share all the new files together or save them in Files. The original PDF stays as it is.
Good to know
Keep only some pages
If you need just a few pages and not the rest, Extract pages is quicker: it makes one new PDF with only the pages you choose.
Split in two halves
Use Custom groups with two ranges, for example 1-10, 11-20 for a 20-page PDF.
Split a protected PDF
The app asks for the password you know; the new files stay protected with the same password. With Premium you can remove the password from the results.
